Master Number, how do YOU add?

So here's a question for you...

What method(s) do you use to add birthdays and names?

After studying numerology for several years, I've come across multiple ways of adding, and the idea that the end number, whether you get a master number or a number from 1 to 9, is the "simple" number. To see the complexities of your number, you then go to the last number that added down to your "simple" number. For example 29 added down to 11 - 29 is the "specific" number and 11 is the "simple" number.

I usually add my birthday, 9/13/1975 as 9+1+3+1+9+7+5, which adds to 35/8.

Some styles, however add 9 + 13 + (1+9+7+5) = 22 + (22) = 44/8

Quiet frankly I'd rather be 35/8, but there is some accuracy to the 44 birthforce number when I've read it.

Ideas? Thoughts?

for years i have always added them thussly:

    9/13/1975= 9+1+3+1+9+7+5

Its how i learned to do it years ago, though I cant for the life of me find any supporting documentation for this method. I think perhaps there is a disparity for the methods of date summing between Chaldean, Pythagorean, and Hebraic, methods, but at this juncture the reason for the difference is unknown.

I actually add both ways now, creating an additional layer of detail to my readings.

I think of it as being a bit like in astrology with the sun sign. Someone knows their an Aries, for example, which would be the equivalent of the simple number. Then they find out that their sun is in the 2nd decanate, which would be perhaps like looking at the compound number behind the simple number. They find out which house their sun is in. It all brings new information and nuances of expression and interpretation.

Well that makes me feel a little bit better Wendy actually :)

Because of my birthday adding up to 16/7 ... this one coming out to 34/7

This is the right way right? 6/23/1985

        6 + 2 + 3 + 23 = 34
